Lots of folks were glad to hear that Jeff Cherry had opened Cherry’s Seafood & Steaks in Trenton. Yes, there are other eateries in Trenton, but this one is truly special. Jeff is the grandson of A.D. Cherry, whose seafood business was a staple for many years in St. Petersburg. Now you can have the same “right from the dock” freshness you’d expect from this seafaring family. Cherry’s is located at 408 N. Main Street in downtown Trenton, right across from the Quilt Museum, and is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday-Saturday (11-9) and for lunch on Sundays (11-3)
At Cherry’s, you can select any one of a large number of dinner entrees, and there are lunch specials, too. Service is excellent and prices are reasonable. While aged Angus beef and super-fresh seafood (Cedar Key clams and oysters!) are the house specialties, there are even special offerings for kids or salad-eaters.
From Jeff Cherry:
“Having a passion for exceeding our guests’ expectations, and products that are unique to our area are the two main ingredients in creating Cherry’s Seafood & Steaks.
The Cherry family has been in the commercial seafood business in north-central Florida along the “Forgotten Coast” since the 1950’s. Cherry’s Commercial Seafood was founded by Arthur Day Cherry Sr. in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1947. The Cherry family still operate their own boats today. This has always provided us with fresh seafood that was second to none. This unique opportunity, coupled with one of the finest quality beef providers has afforded us the opportunity to provide our guests with much more than just something to eat. It is our goal to enable our guests to taste the passion we have for freshness and superior food quality. We are committed to unmatched customer service, and providing only highest quality food.
The Cherrys call this great community home. Our wish is to provide our neighbors, guests, friends, and our extended customer family with a restaurant that our community will both enjoy and be proud of.”
