8th Annual Race the Tortoise 5K

At O'Leno State Park. We want YOU at the Eighth Annual Race the Tortoise 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) to be held at O'Leno State Park on March 5, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. This event is hosted by Friends of O?Leno, Inc. The proceeds from the race will help provide for the creatures in the Park’s Nature Center and to help expand its exhibits.

This is an out and back certified race course (FL09012EBM) with mile markers. It is on the Park's main road which is both scenic and paved. The start and finish lines are near the main parking area approximately 1.5 miles from the Park's entrance.

This is a family-friendly running and walking event promoting a healthy life style and the beauty of O'Leno State Park. Some participants will be racing for prize money and awards, to achieve a personal best or to complete their first running event. Whether you run fast, slow, or walk, come out and challenge yourself to Race the Tortoise. All levels of ability welcome.

Please note: All participants will need to arrive at the park by 7:30am. Main park drive will be temporarily closed starting at 7:30am and lasting until the last runner crosses the finish line (normally between 8:30am -8:45am). Please plan accordingly.
