Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail
Designed for cycling, walking, and horseback riding, the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail State Park is a 16 mile journey that meanders from Boulware Springs Park in Gainesville, through the Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park and the Lochloosa Wildlife Management Area and ending in Hawthorne. The trail is an easy ride for most cyclists, with a few gentle hills. There are many opportunities to see wildlife along the way, especially if you take the time to visit La Chua trail in Paynes Prairie.
