Lochloosa Harbor is the only fish camp on Lochloosa Lake. Launching your boat here puts you close to great bass and crappie action.

If you’re looking for some great freshwater angling action, good food and nice folks, head from Gainesville to the eastern boundary of Alachua County and Lochloosa Harbor. This is one of the few “real” fish camps left in the state with access to some of the best freshwater fishing in Florida.  Lochloosa Lake is renowned for its bass fishery, and local guide Dave Barrett (352-481-2130) is enthusiastic about the upcoming 2012 winter bass season.  Dave regularly catches fish that top the scales over 10-pounds.  And fish camp owner (and head cook and bottle-washer) Laurie Pease thinks the turn of 2013 will bring a great speck (crappie) bite to the lake.

Lochloosa Harbor has a fully-stocked bait and tackle shop, a comfy diner, and nice cabins for rent.  You can also tie up your boat or RV.  Boat rentals are available, but you’ll have to bring your own kicker.  And this is a great spot for kayak fishing or touring.

Visit the fully-stocked bait and tackle shop at Lochloosa Harbor. The "Diner" is right next door!
