2011 Mighty Mullet Maritime Festival
The fourth annual Mighty Mullet Maritime Festival in Panacea is an event not to be missed! The all-day festival will begin at 10am at Woolley Park just off Coastal Highway 98 on beautiful Dickerson Bay. Parking is free and admission is only $3 per person and free for children 12 and under. The festival activities include the "Mighty Mullet Cook-off" featuring innovative mullet dishes; a Fresh Florida Seafood cooking demonstration by Florida's State Chef, Justin Timineri; the hilarious "Fishy Fashion Show"; maritime history reenactors, displays, and presentations; plenty of kid's activities; arts and crafts vendors; live music; and the crowning of the Festival King and Queen. Kayaks will be available to glide along the marshes of Dickerson Bay and plenty of mullet and other great local seafood will be served up by some of the best Big Bend restaurants and food vendors. Proceeds from the Festival will benefit the Big Bend Maritime Center in Panacea, Florida.
