    • Airfest

    • Archaeology Month at Mission San Luis
      This March, Mission San Luis has exciting things planned for Florida Archaeology Month. Our new Visitor Center is showcasing artifacts from the Mission, as well as a temporary exhibit of Spanish colonial art on loan from Calynne and Lou Hill. The Mission is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00am - 4:00pm. We are also offering behind-the-scene tours of the Archaeology Lab on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. The guided archaeology site tour will be every Thursday beginning at noon.

    • Blessing of Animals at Mission San Luis
      October 2nd, 2010 [Time TBA] Blessing of Animals at Mission San Luis Pet owners, animal lovers, and furry, feathered, or other friends are invited to the sixth annual Blessing of Animals. The event will feature individual pet blessings, activities for children, and animal organization exhibits. Photos of blessings will be available for purchase.

      Features concert by national recording artists, children's activities, pony rides, food vendors, arts and crafts, exhibitors and "Sky Concert" fireworks display. FREE

    • Chihuahua Parade around the Mission San Luis Plaza
      Start off the Cinco de Mayo season of celebrating with a Fido friendly event. Mission San Luis invites all Chihuahuas, Chihuahua wannabes, their companions, and their fans to join the fun for the second annual “paseo” around the plaza. The event is a good opportunity to showcase your dogs and to introduce them to their cultural heritage at the same time. Costumes are optional. All dogs must be on leashes. Unlike the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, this event doesn’t require a pedigree. If it looks like a Chihuahua, walks like a Chihuahua, or thinks it is a Chihuahua, it is welcome at Mission San Luis. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day and the opportunity to meet others who share your enthusiasm for this small but mighty breed. Free with admission to site.

    • Commemorative Mass at Mission San Luis
      Commemorative Mass at Mission San Luis The annual commemorative Mass at Mission San Luis honors the over 100 Spanish missions that existed in La Florida during the 16th and 17th centuries. Throughout the day, visitors can explore Florida’s past through living history, self-guided site tours and exhibits.

      Emancipation Day Celebration - The Knott House hosts this commemoration of the day when the Emancipation Proclamation was announced in Tallahassee. The program includes the reading, music, costumed participants, tours of African American historic sites, and a picnic in Lewis Park. Times are 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Knott House Museum, free.

      Come out and experience authentic West African dance and drum! The 13th annual Florida African Dance Festival will take place beginning June 10, 2010. All of the dancers and drummers are members of the national ballets of their home countries.

    • Florida History Fair
      May 07 - 09, 2009 Florida History Fair - This year's topic is "The Individual in History: Actions & Legacies." More than 800 middle and high school students travel to Tallahassee to compete in 5 categories. The competition is held on the Tallahassee Community College campus on Friday. The awards ceremony is held at Chiles High School on Saturday. Winners go to the National History Day (Fair) in College Park, Maryland. The public may view the exhibits between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tallahassee Community College Campus, free.

    • Florida Wine Festival
      The 8th Annual Florida Wine Festival will take place at Klemen Plaza in downtown Tallahassee. The 2 day event will feature food, live music, grape stomping, an auction and of course wine tasting. The event on Saturday is free to the public.

    • Giving Thanks at Mission San Luis
      Friday and Saturday, November 26 & 27, 2010 10 am to 4 pm Giving Thanks: Exploring 17th Century Food Traditions at Mission San Luis Mission San Luis invites the public to Giving Thanks, a celebration of 17th–century Spanish and Apalachee Indian traditional foods. Visitors can observe costumed interpreters smoking meat and fish on the barbacoa, and demonstrating the use of native and European plants from their gardens and fields. The Mission’s unique culinary history comes to life with preparations for the feast. There will be hands-on food tasks for children.

    • Irish Festival and St. Patrick's Parade
      On Saturday March 13 the Tallahassee Irish Society will partner with the Tallahassee Automobile Museum at 6800 Mahan Dr (near I-10 on Hwy 90,) to stage the 11th annual Saint Patrick's Parade. The parade will feature clans, bands, clubs, cars and others celebrating all things Irish Also, this year the Society will hold the second annual Tallahassee Irish Festival on the Museum grounds. It will begin at 11:00 and run until 3:00 and will be free to all. The festival will feature music by popular local Celtic rock band “Scots on the Rock”, Irish dancing, food, beer, arts and craft vendors, children's activities a raffle and other attractions.

    • Jazz & Blues Festival
      The Jazz and Blues Festival will feature great music from various jazz musicians. The event will take place at the outdoor stage of the Tallahassee museum. Food, fun and activities for people of all ages!

    • Jazz at the Gray
      April 15, 2009. Jazz at the Gray returns with the best of North and South Florida jazz. The upbeat jazz group, Tiempo Libre, will bring their Latin sounds to the R. A. Gray Plaza in an encore presentation. The award-winning Jazz Faculty Ensemble of the University of North Florida will entertain in the classic style of Duke Ellington and Count Bassie.     • Kidsfest
      Join us for a day for the entire community to celebrate childhood. Kids can enjoy hands-on activities including bounce houses, a giant 22' water slide, pony rides, arts and crafts activities, costumed characters, live entertainment, and much more. Refreshments will be sold

    • Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park
      Natural Bridge is the site of the second largest Civil War battle in Florida and where the St. Marks River drops into a sinkhole and flows underground for one-quarter of a mile before reemerging.

      Taking place at the North Florida Fairgrounds, the North Florida Fair will celebrate its 69th annual edition this year, November 4th - November 14th, 2010. Each year people from North Florida, South Georgia and beyond attend our Fair in Tallahassee, Florida. The North Florida Fair is one of the most successful events in the "Sunshine State."

    • Springtime Tallahassee Festival
      This years 42nd annual Springtime Tallahasse Festival kicks off in downtown Tallahassee. This event has been voted as one of the top events in Florida. There will be food, art, and live jazz for entertainment. There will also be a parade and a 10k race.

    • Swamp Stomp Music Festival
      Come out to the Tallahassee Museum for the Swamp Stomp Music Festival and enjoy nine shows by singer/songwriters from the big bend playing a variety of music such as Contemporary acoustic jams, Bluegrass, Folk, Americana, and Saltwater music. Sink your teeth into FREE watermelon and ice cream while supplies last, play yesteryear games and contests, experience animal encounters, explore fossil digs, exhibits and more. Although the music festival starts at 4pm, the museum is still opening at 9am.

    • Tallahassee Chain of Parks Art Festival
      Join the fun on April 17-18 for the 10th Annual Chain of Parks Art Festival, presented by LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts. The art festival benefits LeMoyne's educational centers.

    • Tallahassee Film Festival
      A three-day celebration of professitonal and emerging talent in the North Florida film, music and related arts industry. The theme for this year is "See you in the Dark." The festival will feature films, workshops and film lectures.

    • Tour of Gardens
      16th annual Tallahassee Tour of Gardens 9am-5pm. Sponsored by Friends of Maclay Gardens State Park. $30 ticket includes breakfast, silent auction, plant sale and tour of six private gardens! Tickets on sale starting April 1st at local nursery's and the ranger's station at Maclay Gardens State Park.
