      Glitz and Glory: The Golden Age of Spain March 29 – April 2 Children ages 9-11; grades 4-6. Experience the rich culture of Spain during the 16th and 17th centuries through art, science, and history. Find out which Old World traditions were brought to the New World by explorers and colonists. Enrollment fees: Individual Sessions: $35 for Friends members; $40 for non-members. 5-Day Sessions: $160 for Friends members; $180 for non-members. Camp T-shirt and craft supplies included in fee. These Florida natives will be the inspiration for hands-on activities such as gardening, flint knapping, and archery. A Child’s Life June 14-18 Children ages 8-10; entering grades 3-5. Imagine you were born 350 years ago. What was life like for the young residents of the mission? Learn to dress, play, and live like a colonist through role-playing, studying site artifacts, and using period toys and games. New World Apprentice June 28-July 2 Children ages 11-13; entering grades 6-8. Join our bustling village as a living history interpreter and participate in a variety of apprenticeships. Enlist as a soldier, blacksmith, potter, and more! Junior Archaeology July 5-9 Children ages 8-10; entering grades 3-5. Welcome to the fascinating world of archaeology! This introductory program will teach you to piece together the past through hands-on learning activities with Mission San Luis archaeologists. Historical Archaeology July 19-23 Children ages 11-13; entering grades 6-8. Dig into the past and learn the tools of the trade alongside professional archaeologists. Mapping, water screening, sorting, and artifact identification are just some of the skills you will enjoy learning. Spaniards on the High Seas July 26-30 Children ages 8-10; entering grades 3-5. Spend the week learning about the explorers, conquistadors, and merchants who traveled across oceans in search of new trade routes, unfamiliar lands, and riches. This is an adventure you don’t want to miss! Colonial Survivor August 9-13 Children ages 11-13; entering grades 6-8. Journey across the Atlantic and form your own colony.
