Grandma Susie’s Cookin’ Shack at Suwannee River Rendezvous

One of the best things about staying at Suwannee River Rendezvous is that you don’t have to cook or venture far from your lodging when mealtime comes around: Grandma Susie’s Cookin’ Shack is just down the hill.

The cooking is done in one building and handed through a window to waiting diners who can choose to eat in the air-conditioned lodge or at one of the many picnic tables around the property. The menu is extensive, from salads, sandwiches and burgers to steaks, seafood and desserts. (Don’t miss the brownie sundae.) You can also buy beer, wine and even Kahlua drinks in the lodge.

At breakfast time, the signature dish is the Suwannee River Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich. For just $3.99, you get sausage, bacon, cheese and an egg on Texas toast or a homemade biscuit. Kids’ plates are varied and start at just $2.50.
