North Central Florida’s Newest Sporting Destination–Bass Pro Shops, Gainesville

Bass Pro Shops is more than an outdoor retail store.  It’s a destination!  The average visitor spends about 2 hours walking the aisles and experiencing the great outdoors–INDOORS!

Florida’s 11th Bass Pro Shops store opened recently in Gainesville, just off Archer Road west of the intersection of I-75.  It’s planned as the anchor store of what will be a large retail complex.

The Gainesville Bass Pro Shops main atrium is a huge outdoor diorama, featuring fish and game from the southeast and our region of Florida.

The huge indoor fish tank is a focal point of the store, and is always a hit with the younger crowd!

While Bass Pro Shops mega-stores are fun to roam, their main purpose is to sell you something.   That’s not a bad thing, and they have plenty of fishing and hunting gear on the shelves.  There are excellent selections of clothing and gift items and Bass Pro is known for its excellent seminars from local and national fishing and hunting celebrities, held throughout the year.  Be sure to sign up for emails that include special event notifications as well as special offers.
