North Florida Black Heritage Trail

If you delve into the history of North Florida’s African American community, you are sure to feel a sense of amazement at the resiliency and strength displayed through the generations. We hope you will take the opportunity to further explore the region’s rich cultural past by reading the world-class literature on the region’s African American heroes.

Sites included on the itinerary are featured because they are generally open to the public with regular hours of operation, and are of either regional or national significance. If you desire to delve deeper into the region's Black Heritage, please contact one of the tourism organization's included in this publication so you can be directed to additional sites and resources.
